2010..What is in store?

Looking back at the year 2009, I realised that so many things have happened in my life but each incident has had an impact on me be it huge or small. I don't know why but sometimes I tend to reflect back on the past and think of the things that I did back then. Some say it is bad to think of things like that but I would say it is good in a way because it gives you a better perspective on your own life.

In the year 2009, I got my first job which I am thankful and right now, I'm trying to enjoy working but then nobody said working in a resort was going to be an easy one. The stress is present everyday. Try asking Elmo. >_> She'll practically rip my head if I don't go out with her soon due to my work. Even my best friends are complaining each time they come back to KK for the holidays. =_= 2009 was also a year of much grief for me. *sigh* Why? I have lost people that I loved, suffered the usual heartaches, got myself stabbed at the back and I saw most of my dreams flew away from the grasp of my hand. For those who say crying is a sign weakness, you guys are wrong coz it's actually a good way of releasing your sorrows. T_T Yes...2009 was actually quite a depressing year for me and in a way, I am glad it is over already. Phheeww...

To my ever lasting buddies, Ain, Cammie, Shilly, Faith & PIng, thanks for the great friendship throughout all these years and may it continue until we are finally six feet underground. XP Without the support, advice and love from all of you, I don't think I would have come out sane after such a turbulent year. You are guys are just AWESOME!!! *gives everyone a bear hug* I guess it is time to put grudges behind and stop dwelling on mistakes that I have made. Forgive those who have hurt me and caused me so much pain. I am now moving on and I shall start anew. Maybe everything happens for a reason but I do hope for the best in 2010. I believe that what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger. XD Happy New Year everybody!!!

Work work work...

Finally, I now have the time to sit down and update my poor blog *sayangs blog* Hehe... Anyway, it's been a while since I've written something due to me not having any ideas and also, my busy schedule. =_= I've started my industrial training in Shangri-La Tanjung Aru already, and so far it's been quite a blast especially in the housekeeping (HSKP) and laundry department. XD

I'll do a recap of my 6 months training with pictures included once I am finished for good but moving on, I am now assigned to the front office department (FO). It's my 2nd month now and so far it has not been really smooth sailing for me..Sigh.. Uniform definitely looks good on me since it's a Kebaya *winks* but some of the people are quite snobby I would say. T_T  Third and fourth day already kena marah sikit but at least something funny happened on the today la.. By the way, sorry for the bad english but I'm a bit lazy now to stick to correct grammatical sentences.

The first incident can be considered 'funny' but I treat it as a lesson since I did make a mistake. I was put under the Concierge section and today so happened to be my first day there. It was a very busy morning since all the Toyota Management guests were already checking out and they placed all their luggages in the Concierge store room. All my service leaders were busy and I was alone at the counter. O.O All of a sudden the resident manager (RM) comes up to me and asks for a blank paper. Startled by his presence, I was only thinking of trying to find 'blank paper' and so I gave him one. 2 hours later my service leaders were asked by the Director of Rooms why someone gave the RM a blank recycled paper instead of the hotel's note pad =.=''. I wasn't scolded (thankfully) of course but I was reminded not to do it again but there was no hard feelings what so ever since it was my first day.. Phheeww...

The other incident involved 2 of the Toyota Management's guests. These 2 females were all ready to leave the hotel for their flight to the Philliphines when all of a sudden, they remembered that they left something in their hotel room. That 'something' so happened to be 2 postcards.. You might think it's lame to ask the hotel to find the postcards but to the Filipinos, everything from a 5-star hotel is valuable including amenities such as soap, shampoo, toothbrush etc. So being a good trainee =.= I went all the way to the 4th floor to look for their dear postcards. Luckily, the HSKP people were still cleaning up the room and I managed to find it. Where did I find it you may ask.. XD It was in the HKSP's trolley rubbish bin. With all my guts, I had to dig in and look for it. Both postcards were smeared with soap at the edges but luckily, I managed to wipe it away and make it look like new and the best thing is, the guests didn't had any clue.

Sometimes you'll find all sorts of character from guests but I guess that is what makes the whole experience of working in a hotel fun. There may be ups and downs of course but I guess that's something everyone has to deal with in life. I pray that it rains soon coz I can't stand the heat anymore! T_T

Good Food With a Nice Price Tag

The dinner that I had a while ago was practically one of the best that I have ever eaten in my whole entire life. O.O Why do I say so? Well, first of all I wasn't the one who forked out the money (I'm not trying to sound evil here) and the food was really delicious. Sadly, I was stupid enough not to take pictures of the appetizer and dessert since these two were the ones i considered the best. T_T I only managed to take the main course. =_= I had my dinner with my second uncle and his wife at Sarawak Club's Rajah Room and needless to say, the interior was really high class. I wasn't expecting us to go to somewhere fancy so I came dress in jeans and a collared T-shirt only but boy was I wrong. For the appetizer, I had raw slices of salmon garnished with fresh tomatoes and chilli. The salmon was so fresh and juicy that I made myself savour every bite of it since this would be one of those rare occassions I would eat something so good.
For main course, I had the beef rib eye steak served with mustard sauce since it has been quite long that I got the chance to eat beef. On the plate, there were different varieties of vegetable such as tomatoes and shitake mushroom. The steak was quite tasty but we waited nearly 25 minutes for it to arrive since that the chef had to cook each person's dish individually. By the time it came out, my stomach was already grumbling so loud. I had a tough time chewing the beef due to the tendons. After finishing the main course, I was close to being very full already but I certainly could not leave without eating my dessert. XD
I honestly would have to say that the apple crumble pie paired with vanilla ice cream and fresh cream was the BEST thing ever!!! XD Every bite that went into my mouth literally made me went 'Oohhh' and 'Aahhh' inside. I would not mind spending RM9 for such a delicious dessert but it would certainly burn a hole in my pocket. =.= Overall, I would rate the food and the ambience on a scale of 7/10. The price for my meal was RM70++. Expensive as it is, it was well worth it in my opinion. I went home feeling full, happy and really satisfied after that dinner. Credit goes to the chef who made that excellent dessert and for those who may go to Kuching one day, please do try this dessert if you are visiting Sarawak Club. Guess I better go to bed first and continue blogging another day.
P.S: Couldn't upload pics due to bad connection. Gomen!

The Day the Earth Stood Still

Yes. I have moved to Blogspot just like everyone has and you can say that I am partially abandoning my Xanga blog. =_= I do still care for my Xanga though. XD Anyway, just went to watched Keanu Reeves' new movie this Wednesday and it was the first show which was 10.00 p.m. The cinema hall was packed with mostly teens and young adults due to the surrounding hype that the movie has garnered and I was really expecting it to be mind-blowing (anything with keanu reeves was suppose to be good) .  I shall warn you before hand that my entry will contain some spoilers. XP

After watching it for an entire duration of 1 hour and 45 minutes, I felt a bit disappointed because I expected it to be full with lots and lots of action but I guess that wasn't possible since the movie only happened in one day. =_= The special effects however were definitely good considering how real GORT the robot looked like and the part when the swarm of metal insects devoured the HUGE baseball stadium. Luckily, my RM 10 did not go to waste for this movie because there is one part where Keanu starts speaking in Mandarin! The whole hall erupted with laughter since Keanu sounded quite hilarious. XD

Eventhough the movie wasn't that great, it did leave everyone with an important message which was, if humans don't change the way they are living right now, the earth and humans will one day perish together. *shivers* Here are a few reasons to watch this movie:
1. Keanu Reeves looks really handsome in the movie! (hahaha!)
2. Good special effects
3. Watch it if you're a sci-fi fan
4. If you want to know how advance aliens can be
5. This is the first movie where Keanu speaks authentic mandarin.

Exams are coming up next week and I haven't started revising yet. After exams, it's home sweet home KK for good but it will be very sad for me at the same time. Sigh.. I think it's time for me to hit the books. Until the next entry, Tata!
