I'll do a recap of my 6 months training with pictures included once I am finished for good but moving on, I am now assigned to the front office department (FO). It's my 2nd month now and so far it has not been really smooth sailing for me..Sigh.. Uniform definitely looks good on me since it's a Kebaya *winks* but some of the people are quite snobby I would say. T_T Third and fourth day already kena marah sikit but at least something funny happened on the today la.. By the way, sorry for the bad english but I'm a bit lazy now to stick to correct grammatical sentences.
The first incident can be considered 'funny' but I treat it as a lesson since I did make a mistake. I was put under the Concierge section and today so happened to be my first day there. It was a very busy morning since all the Toyota Management guests were already checking out and they placed all their luggages in the Concierge store room. All my service leaders were busy and I was alone at the counter. O.O All of a sudden the resident manager (RM) comes up to me and asks for a blank paper. Startled by his presence, I was only thinking of trying to find 'blank paper' and so I gave him one. 2 hours later my service leaders were asked by the Director of Rooms why someone gave the RM a blank recycled paper instead of the hotel's note pad =.=''. I wasn't scolded (thankfully) of course but I was reminded not to do it again but there was no hard feelings what so ever since it was my first day.. Phheeww...
The other incident involved 2 of the Toyota Management's guests. These 2 females were all ready to leave the hotel for their flight to the Philliphines when all of a sudden, they remembered that they left something in their hotel room. That 'something' so happened to be 2 postcards.. You might think it's lame to ask the hotel to find the postcards but to the Filipinos, everything from a 5-star hotel is valuable including amenities such as soap, shampoo, toothbrush etc. So being a good trainee =.= I went all the way to the 4th floor to look for their dear postcards. Luckily, the HSKP people were still cleaning up the room and I managed to find it. Where did I find it you may ask.. XD It was in the HKSP's trolley rubbish bin. With all my guts, I had to dig in and look for it. Both postcards were smeared with soap at the edges but luckily, I managed to wipe it away and make it look like new and the best thing is, the guests didn't had any clue.
Sometimes you'll find all sorts of character from guests but I guess that is what makes the whole experience of working in a hotel fun. There may be ups and downs of course but I guess that's something everyone has to deal with in life. I pray that it rains soon coz I can't stand the heat anymore! T_T
